The Madison College women's volleyball team won its fifth-straight match on Oct. 5 when they travelled to La Crosse and defeated Western Technical College for the second time this season 25-9, 25-13, 25-22.
Offensively, second-year player and captain
April Testman led the WolfPack with eight kills against the Cavailers, while
Ashley Ponyicsanyi served the ball well recording five aces in the match. Setter
Kirsten Halma added 18 assists for the WolfPack.
Fellow second-year player and co-captain
Kelsey Zimmerman blocked four Cavalier shots and
Ashley Biesterveld stymied the Cavaliers' offense with 14 digs.
The WolfPack (18-6, 7-1) play four-straight home matches before ending the season with two on the road. Four of their final six matches are North Central Community College (N4C) contests. The most challenging remaining opponenet for the WolfPack is at home on Oct. 12 against the No. 3 ranked team in the country, Rock Valley Community College, who defeated the WolfPack in four sets in Rockford, Ill. earlier this season.
Next up for the WolfPack is a home game against Harper College at 6 p.m. in the Redsten Gymnasium on Oct. 7.
