Sarah (Boland) Grotsky is in her fourth season as the Madison Area Technical College head women’s volleyball coach. Last season, Coach Grotsky’s MATC volleyball team stormed through the regular season winning fourteen straight matches and posting a 16-5 regular season record, losing only one game to a Wisconsin junior college team. The team won the WTCC Conference title for the first time since 1999 with an undefeated conference mark. The team finished with an impressive overall record of 21-7-3.
Coach Grotsky was a three-sport athlete (volleyball, softball, basketball) and two-year letterwinner while playing for Lockport High School in Lockport, IL. After high school she attended college at Murray State University. At Murray State, Grotsky was a four-year letterwinner and was selected to the all-freshman team in her first season. In 1995, she served as team captain.
Grotsky was born on July 23, 1974 in Joliet, IL. Her parents are Brian and Janet Boland. She married Jack Grotsky on Saturday, July 13, 2002. She and Jack currently live in Sun Prairie. In addition to coaching at MATC, Grotsky is a decorative painter, owning her own business, Doodle’s Designs.
