Sarah (Boland) Grotsky has served as the Madison Area Technical College head women’s volleyball coach since 2000 and will start her fifth season in 2004. Grotsky’s WolfPack volleyball team finished with an impressive 21-7-3 overall record during the 2002 season, and most recently finished 9-15-1 during the 2003 campaign. The 2003 team also finished second in the WTCC Conference.

Coach Grotsky was a three-sport athlete (volleyball, softball, basketball) and two-year letterwinner while playing for Lockport High School in Lockport, IL. After high school she attended college at Murray State University. At Murray State, Grotsky was a four-year letterwinner and was selected to the all-freshman team in her first season. In 1995, she served as team captain. In 1996-97, she also served as a student-athlete member of the NCAA Recruiting Committee.

She and her husband, Jack, currently live in Sun Prairie. In addition to coaching at MATC, Grotsky teaches elementary art in the Verona Area School District and is a decorative painter, owning her own business, Doodle’s Designs.
