Daryn Schaefer

Daryn Schaefer is entering her first season as assistant volleyball coach at Madison College after being hired in July 2024. She returns to the WolfPack one year after completing an impressive two-year career as a setter.

Daryn ranks second in program history with 1,781 assists over 235 sets played for a 7.57 assist per set average. Her 891 assists as a sophomore ranks fifth for a single season, while her 840 assists the year prior is good for eighth on the list. Daryn posted a career-best 59 assists on August 18, 2023 against Illinois Central College, tying for the second most in a match in school history. Daryn was also a threat behind the service line, where she racked up 100 career aces to sit ninth all-time. The all-around player put her name on the career digs list, as well, with 418 to rank 23rd. She was named First Team All-North Central Community College Conference and First Team All-Region 4 after her freshman season, which also ended with a spot on the Region 4 Division III All-Tournament Team.

Prior to Madison College, Daryn was a three-sport athlete and an 11-time letter winner at Wisconsin Heights High School. The Mazomanie, Wisconsin, native, was a two-time all-conference selection in volleyball and an all-conference recipient in softball, while also playing basketball. Daryn served as a team captain in all three sports, was named Most Improved in softball, and was awarded the Rising Vanguard Award in basketball.

Daryn's coaching career has included a two-year stint with Infinity Volleyball Crew at the club level.

Away from volleyball, Daryn enjoys spending time boating and being outdoors with family and friends.
