Sara Stern

Sara Stern is entering her second season as an assistant women's soccer coach at Madison College after being hired in July 2024. She was promoted to associate head coach prior to the 2025 season.

Sara comes to Madison College following a decorated playing career at the prep and collegiate levels. A forward/defender/midfielder for four years at NCAA Division I UW-Milwaukee, she helped the Panthers win four consecutive Horizon League Tournament titles that resulted in NCAA Tournament appearances. Sara scored the game-winner in the league championship as a freshman and was named to the Horizon League All-Tournament Team. She earned Second Team All-Horizon League as a senior and finished her career with three goals and six assists. Sara graduated in 2013 with a Communications degree and a Journalism minor.

In her prep days, Sara guided McFarland High School to back-to-back WIAA Division 2 State Tournament appearances as a freshman and sophomore, earning a runner-up finish in 2007. The Spartans won four Rock Valley Conference championships with Sara on the team. She finished her career with 108 goals scored, while earning four all-conference honors and three WSCA All-State awards.

Sara currently resides in Middleton, Wisconsin. In her spare time, she enjoys being active and outdoors with activities like running, hiking, paddle boarding, and hot yoga. Sara also enjoys traveling and eating good food with good company.
