Cari Sims

Cari Sims

Cari Sims is entering her first season as assistant coach for the Madison College women's soccer team.

Cari, 28, has more than five years of coaching experience in the Madison area, with stints as head coach and athletic development coach for Rush Wisconsin, SC (2014-present) and Magic SC (2010-2014).

"My coaching philosophy is to balance individual and team success while upholding values of respect and honor and using adversity and successes to grow and improve. The environment should be conducive to learning and empower the team to find their unique rhythm. Ultimately, the way I ask players to be part of this team, should help them be successful on the soccer field as well as better citizens of the world. Major components of my philosophy are: Embrace the learning process, seek synthesis, engage fully, communication, accountability, honor both the individual and the whole, and mental resiliency."

Cari is a 2009 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she double-majored in International Agriculture & Natural Resources and Community & Environmental Sociology. In her playing days, Cari was a two-year letter winner as a midfielder playing for Oregon HS, where she graduated in 2005.

Cari lives in Fitchburg, Wisconsin, with her husband, WolfPack men's soccer head coach Cory Sims.
