Steve Bartow begins his second season as the Madison Area Technical College head women’s basketball coach. Bartow started with the program last season, leading the WolfPack women’s basketball team to a second place finish in the Wisconsin Technical College Conference with a record of 5-3. The WolfPack women finished the season with an overall record of 14-15.

Coach Bartow was a standout basketball player for Madison West H.S., earning first team All-State honors his senior season. Bartow, an MATC Hall of Fame Inductee, played for Madison Area Technical College during the1983-84 season, averaging more than 18 points and five assists per game. While at MATC, Bartow received NJCAA Region XIII honors as well as team MVP and team Defensive Player of the Year honors. After MATC, Bartow went on to play for Valley City State University in North Dakota. While at Valley City, he received NAIA All-American honors and scored the winning basket to beat UW-Eau Claire in the NAIA National Tournament.

Bartow was born on May 28, 1963 in Dixon, IL. In 1987, he received his B.S. degree from Valley City State University in Education. In addition to coaching, Bartow is a Special Education Teacher at LaFollette High School. His wife’s name is Carmen and his daughters are Lisa, Elizabeth, and Ashley.
