Jessica Pelzel

Jessica Pelzel started as the MATC Head Women’s Basketball Coach during the 2006-07 season and starting her third season leading the MATC women's basketball team. In just her second season with the program Pelzel led her squad to a 24-9 overall record. In the process, her team claimed the WTCC Championship, the WJCAA state title, the NJCAA Region XIII Championship, and a fourth place finish in the NJCAA National Tournament held in Utica, NY.

Pelzel served as an assistant coach at the College of St. Benedict (St. Joseph, MN) for two years prior to coming to MATC. This past season, she was a full-time instructor in the Department of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Sport Science (HPERSS) at St. Cloud State University (SCSU) - where she also earned her Master’s of Science degree. Before that, Pelzel held a graduate assistant position with the SCSU Women’s Basketball team for one year, and was a two-year graduate teaching assistant in the HPERSS department.

Pelzel was a four-year member of the women’s basketball team at Southwest Minnesota State University (Marshall, MN), where she was a three-time team captain and was selected defensive player-of-the-year her senior season. She is also a current member of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) and has coached numerous Minnesota AAU teams over the past 10 years.

In addition to her coaching duties, Pelzel is also a full-time physical education instructor at MATC.
