ric Liegel is in his first season as an assistant and goalie coach with the Madison College soccer team under head coach Sam Ramirez. Liegel, from Belleville, WI, played two seasons with the WolfPack (2010-2011) and was the starting goalkeeper both seasons. Liegel holds several soccer records at the college, including being tied for first in saves in a single game with 14 (a record he tied twice in 2011), the top two spots in saves in a season with 137 and 131, and saves in a career (268) in 33 games. He was named Mr. Defense and N4C Academic All-Conference his first season at the college; and team captain, most valuable player, and N4C All-Conference his final season.
As a prep, Liegel was three-year letter winner and four-year participant in soccer at Belleville High School. He also played basketball as a guard for four seasons (2 letters) and two seasons of track as a sprinter and a jumper (2 letters). Besides coaching the WolfPack, Liegel has coached track and boy's freshman basketball for Belleville High School. He is currently a student studying Liberal Arts at Madison College.
