Mike Kurschner is entering his first season as an assistant men's basketball coach after being hired in April 2018.
Kurschner comes to Madison College after coaching for 22 years at the high school level, including stops at Sun Prairie, Deerfield, and Washburn.
During his playing days, Kurschner averaged eight points per game as a power forward at Washburn High School. He was a three-year letter winner from 1986-1989.
Following high school, Kurschner enrolled at Duluth Technical College (Duluth, MN) and then UW-Stout (Menomonie, WI), where he studied Machine Tool Design and Manufacturing Engineering ABET before earning his bachelor's degree in 1993. In 1999, he earned a master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering.
Kurschner currently works at Madison College, where he has been a Manufacturing Instructor for eight years. He currently lives in Madison and has three kids, Aaron (20), Matthew (12), and Mackenzie (9). Away from basketball, he enjoys running, lifting, and cycling.
