Marvell Brown Jr. is entering his first season as a men's basketball assistant coach at Madison College after being hired in September 2025.
Marvell has been involved with coaching for the past 14 years, including eight years as a skill development trainer for high school and college athletes in Wisconsin and Arizona. He has also spent the previous four years running youth camps, training, and skill development for the Franklin Sabres program in Franklin, Wisconsin, where Marvell coached the 8th grade team for one season. His coaching career began at the Goodman Community Center in Madison coaching various youth camps from 2011-2015, as well as serving as an assistant coach for three years in the NESYB program.
Marvell played collegiate basketball at UW-Waukesha in 2017, where he earned his Associate's Degree in Liberal Arts. As a prep player, he played for four years and earned two varsity letters at DeForest Area High School, while also competing for local AAU and NESYB programs.
Marvell's service to the game of basketball also includes working as a high school referee for the past 12 years in the WIAA.
He currently resides in Fitchburg, Wisconsin, and enjoys hiking with his dogs, golfing, camping, traveling, gaming, and learning to cook new foods.
