Jim Jones is in his fourth season with the Madison College men's basketball team. He brings 30 years of experience to the WolfPack staff, having coached basketball at Milwaukee Hamilton High School (1976-2004), Milwaukee Marshall High School (2005-2006), and Milwaukee Custer High School (2007-2010).
Jones was inducted into the WBCA Coaches Hall of Fame in 2008, and saw his son (Chris Jones) awarded "Mr. Basketball" for the state of Wisconsin following the 1989 season. Chris has joined his father as a WBCA Hall of Fame inductee in 2016 after continuing his playing career at Drake and South Dakota Universities.
Prior to coaching, Jim was a three-sport star for Auburn High School (Rockford, IL), lettering three times in basketball, football, and track.
Following his high school athletic career, Jones went on to attend Iowa Central Community College, and Buena Vista University. He competed in collegiate football from 1964-66, and basketball from 1964-68.
Jim strongly believes in teaching the funadmentals of the game of basketball, even to those players who have natural ability.
