Scheffler is in his second season at MATC, and his first as Associate Head Men’s Basketball Coach. He was the first assistant hired when Coach Vesterdahl was named Head Men’s Coach and was promoted to Associate Head Coach in September 2005.
Scheffler came to MATC from NCAA Division II Seattle Pacific University (SPU) as the Head Assistant under Jeff Hironaka. He has a diverse resume of coaching experiences at the high school, university and international levels.
Coach Scheffler is a 1998 graduate of SPU with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science Education. As the SPU Falcon’s starting guard for four seasons, including two years as team captain, Scheffler helped lead the Falcon’s to four NCAA Division II National Tournaments and three Sweet Sixteen appearances.
In addition to coaching duties, he currently works as the MATC Downtown Campus Fitness Coordinator. Coach Scheffler lives in Madison with his wife Cara.
