Andres Rodriguez

Andres Rodriguez is entering his fourth official season as an assistant coach with the Madison College men's basketball team. Rodriguez spent the 2017-18 season working as a student manager for the WolfPack.

A native of Leon, Spain, Rodriguez spent nearly 20 years on the sidelines coaching basketball at various levels in Europe. His coaching career began as a U15 coach at San Juan de la Cruz High School in 1991 and remained in the youth ranks through 2016. His stops included C.B. Jovenes Trabajadores, C.B. Sarmientos, Leon School District, C.D. San Agustin, and Agustinos Eras, for whom he served as the head coach of the national division from 2014-16.

Rodriguez guided teams to three conference championships and a regional title in 2014-15 that paved the way for a fifth place finish at the national tournament.

Rodriguez enjoyed a successful playing career as a prep, starring for Elosua Leon from 1991-94. During that time he helped the club team to a regional championship and a tenth place finish at the national championships.

Off the court, Rodriguez earned a Radiologic Technologist degree in 1994 and currently works as a special education assistant.

Rodriguez currently lives in Madison, Wisconsin. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family outdoors, listening to many types of music, restoring furniture, and watch live sporting events.
