High School/Personal - Bjerkaas was a two-time Concference MVP at Desoto, where he set a school record with 120 strike outs in a season. He also had the record for wins. John played in the High School All-Star game, and made the Legion State All-Tournament team. Fishing is one of his hobbies. "Field of Dreams" is his favorite movie.
