Jacob Spaeth

Jacob Spaeth was hired at Madison College prior to the start of the 2011 season and is in his fifth season assisting the Madison College baseball team after playing two years at Madison College under current head coach Mike Davenport. Spaeth finished his playing career at the University of Dayton before spending the 2010 season as a student assistant at the University.

Spaeth grew up in Slinger, WI and attended Slinger High School where he excelled on both the baseball and football fields. Spaeth was a two-year letter winner at wide receiver and cornerback on the football field where he was named All-Conference his senior season. More importantly he was a four-year letter winner at shortstop for the baseball team, and was named All-Conference his final three seasons of his high school career. Spaeth then took his skills to Madison College where he was an integral part of the 2006 and 2007 squads that finished first in both the Wisconsin Technical College Conference (WTCC) and Wisconsin Junior College Athletic Association (WJCAA). Spaeth was named All-Conference (WTCC) and All-Region (NJCAA) in 2006, and All-District (NJCAA) in 2007. Statistically speaking Spaeth’s name still appears several times in the WolfPack record books. His 99 career hits is good for twenty-fourth place, his 107 career runs place him third, and he is the WolfPack career steals leader with 71. His 30 steals in 2006 and 41 steals in 2007 are good for third and second place on the school’s all-time list.

After wrapping up his career at Madison College, Spaeth moved on to the University of Dayton where he won letters for the Flyers in 2008 and 2009. During his time with the Flyers he accumulated a .379 batting average, a .480 on base percentage, and 58 runs scored. At the conclusion of his senior season Spaeth was named to the Atlantic 10 Conference’s first team after helping his team win the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship.

Spaeth graduated for the University of Dayton with a degree in Exercise Science and has worked as a personal trainer the past year. Spaeth will assist the WolfPack baseball team in strength and conditioning, hitting, base-running, and outfield play.
