Drew Steinmetz

Drew Steinmetz is entering his first season as an assistant coach with the Madison College baseball team after being hired in March 2020. Steinmetz played for coach Mike Davenport and the WolfPack in 2016 and 2017.

Steinmetz transferred to Madison College from NCAA Division III UW-Stout, where he pitched for one season. Once in a WolfPack uniform, he focused on his bat as an infielder and was named Second Team All-North Central Community College Conference as a sophomore. For his career, Steinmetz played in 71 games and batted .337 with 45 runs scored, 39 runs batted in, and 12 stolen bases. His teams compiled an overall record of 66-46-1 and reached one NJCAA Region IV Tournament Championship Game. Following his time at Madison College, Steinmetz returned to UW-Stout to continue working on a bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

Steinmetz has spent the past three years beginning his coaching career as the head coach of the Chippewa Falls Post 77 Varsity Legion team, while also volunteering with the varsity at Chippewa Falls Senior High. He led Post 77 to a region title in 2019 and a 77-19 record during his tim. He has also worked the past two years as a baseball trainer.

A native of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, Steinmetz was a three-sport athlete at Chippewa Falls Senior High School, competing in baseball, hockey, and football. He received numerous postseason accolades for his play on the diamond and on the rink.
