ESPORTS WEEKLY RECAP: Fall 2026 Week 4

WolfPack Rocket League reaches MCRL Mid-Season Major final

MADISON, WISC. - This past week was filled with action packed games from Rocket League to Overwatch 2, as each WolfPack team continues to fight and show their talents in their respective game titles.

Rocket League

Last week, the Rocket League team competed in the Midwest Collegiate Rocket League (MCRL) Mid-Season Major. The night kicked off with a 3-0 forfeit win against UW-Whitewater Indigo, setting up for a rematch against Kent State University Gold, whom Madison College defeated 3-2 in the season opener. The WolfPack was able to duplicate that feat with a 4-3 victory over KSU Gold to qualify for the championship match. The finals against UW-Whitewater Purple proved to be exactly what you expect: a back-and-forth match-up and that went the full seven games. Despite their hard-fought efforts Madison College did not secure the victory and lost to 4-3.

Rocket League looks to bounce back tonight against the University of Minnesota Maroon in a best-of-five series starting at 6:00 p.m.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Quade Wolter (Quade) started SSBU off strong with a reverse sweep in his first match of the evening Tuesday against Pearl River Community College, rallying to come back from a 2-0 deficit to claim the winner-take-all fifth for a 3-2 win. Trying to keep the momentum against Trinity Valley Community College, Quade wasn't able to find the magic is a tough battle, falling 3-0. Izon Thoronka (C0zy) only had one match this week and wasn't able to find the win even though he had two close games in a 3-0 setback against North Carolina A&T State University. Adam Kaukl (Asinine Child) followed suit with a 3-0 loss to Nicholas of Southwest University.

Match #1: Madison College – Quade 3, Pearl River Community College 2 (2-3, 1-3, 3-2, 3-1, 3-2)
Match #2: Madison College – Trinity Valley Community College 3, Quade 0 (3-0, 3-2, 3-2)
Match #3: Madison College – North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University 3, C0zy 0 (3-2, 3-0, 3-2)
Match #4: Madison College – Southwestern University Nicholas 3, Asinine Child 0

Overwatch 2

The Overwatch 2 team is still looking for consistency each week, and unfortunately couldn't find it in week five. Despite making a roster change and starting Jacob Slater (ScoobieNewb), the WolfPack started to make a comeback in game two with a well fought battle before ultimately falling to Mount St. Joseph University by a 3-0 final.

Match #1: Mount St. Joseph 3, Madison College 0

  • Game One (Flashpoint – Esperanca) - 1-0
