Madison College Athletic Hall of Fame announces second Class of 2025 inductees

Three student-athletes, one coach will be inducted during Alumni Weekend in October

The Madison College Athletics Department announced a group of outstanding former student-athletes and coach to be inducted into the Madison College Athletic Hall of Fame as the second Class of 2025 inductions. Former student-athletes Angie (Bleck) Hoefs (women's volleyball), Steven Foulks (men's soccer), and Andy Russell (baseball), will former national championship women's basketball coach Jessica Pelzel as the Fall 2025 induction class, seven months after the Spring 2025 class was inducted. The fall induction ceremony will be held on Thursday, October 9 at the Dahmen's at Hawks Landing in Verona to open the department's first Alumni Weekend. Registration is now open, with tickets available for $40.

"Madison College Athletics has a rich history of success and this class of inductees surely demonstrates that. This group of student-athletes and coaches are not only phenomenal in their sports, but they are also good representatives of Madison College. We are proud to welcome them back and add these inductees to our distinguished Athletics Hall of Fame," commented Director of Athletics Jason Verhelst.

Angie (Bleck) Hoefs (Women's Volleyball; 2001-02)

  • Led Madison College to WTCC Championship
  • Two-time all-conference, all-state, and all-region
  • Holds school record for career blocks with 236
  • Ranks fifth in kills with 612, fourth in aces with 122, and seventh in kill percentage at .322

Steven Foulks (Men's Soccer; 2003-04)

  • NJCAA Second Team All-American
  • Led Madison College to WTCC, WJCAA, and Region 13 titles
  • Holds school record for assists with 23

Andy Russell (Baseball; 1996-97)

  • Member of back-to-back NJCAA National Championship teams
  • NJCAA Second Team All-American
  • All-conference, all-state, and all-region recipient

Coach Hall of Fame Inductee

Jessica Pelzel (Women's Basketball; 2006-2016 | Softball; 2009-10)

  • Led Madison College to NJCAA National Championship in 2009-10 in program's third consecutive tournament appearance
  • Ranks second program history with 211 wins
  • Three-time Region 13/4 Coach of the Year and two-time WJCAA Coach of the Year
  • Coached five NJCAA All-Americans, ten all-region recipients, and 23 all-conference honorees
