MADISON, WISC. - The Madison College men's basketball team has been putting up some big numbers in the first half of the 2025-26 season, which included a 107-80 decision over Loras College JV on Friday inside
H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium. The #15-ranked WolfPack surpassed the 100-point plateau for the sixth time en route to their 11th win before December, besting last year's ten wins and marking the most for the program at the end of the calendar year since the 2007-08 season. Sophomore
Carson McCormick led the way, sinking six 3-pointers against the NCAA Division III Duhawks. The win also gives the Pack a 5-1 lead in the all-time series.
McCormick and the WolfPack started fast with the guard from Janesville, Wisconsin, knocking down a three-pointer on the team's opening possession, and adding a tip-in rebound a couple possessions later for a 7-0 lead. Loras eventually closed to within 9-8; however, McCormick answered with back-to-back long range hits to ignite a 12-0 run. The home team maintained a double-digit advantage, which grew to as high as 20 when McCormick sank his fifth 3-pointer of the half to push the score to 48-28 with 3:31 to play.
Nearly four minutes into the second half, sophomore
George Whaley IV converted a layup to start a 15-0 surge that put the game fully in Madison College's hands with a 77-48 advantage. The differential eventually peaked at 31 points with
Noah Compan scored to make it 94-63.
Jevon Campbell's jumper with 3:33 remaining put the Pack into triple digits for the second consecutive game with a 100-72 score.
Madison College shot a season-best 61% as they made 42 of 69 attempts, including a 9 for 21 (43%) effort from beyond the arc, as well as a 14 for 20 (70%) at the stripe. The WolfPack won the rebounding battle by a 43-20 margin, while also finishing with a 58-20 lead in points in the paint and a 25-15 edge in points off turnovers.
McCormick finished with 26 points, 19 of which came in the first half, on 10 of 11 shooting that included a 6 for 7 effort outside the arc. He has scored 20 or more points in four of the last seven outings. McCormick also added three rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
Freshman
Carter Sullivan registered his first career double-double with ten points and a career-high 14 rebounds. The native of Stoughton, Wisconsin, converted 4 of 8 shots and made both of his free throws.
Jackson Bertagnoli, a second year guard that was also teammates with McCormick at Janesville Craig HS, rounded out the double-digit scorers with ten points. He was a perfect 4 for 4 overall with a three pointer and one free throw.
Three other players, Whaley, Compan, and
Cam Williams added nine points.
Isaiah Robinson had two points and led the team with three assists.

Madison College (11-1) is off for winter break and will return to action on January 6 against Region 4 foe Kishwaukee College (2-9).
