MADISON, WISC. - In a matchup of two teams yet to lose a Region 4 game, Madison College saw an 11-game region win streak come to a close with an 82-40 setback to Bryant & Stratton College on Wednesday night inside
H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium. The WolfPack, ranked #16 in the latest
NJCAA Division II Poll, made fewer than 20 field goals and set a new season-low point total for the second time in the last three outings. With the victory, the Bobcats, who are receiving votes in the same poll, now lead the all-time series by a 4-3 margin, with another meeting scheduled for February 6. Bryant & Stratton College (14-4) blitzed the WolfPack right out of the gates, racing to an 11-2 lead before the home team called a timeout. Madison College answered with seven straight points to pull within two; however, the remaining 12-plus minutes of the half belonged to the Bobcats with a 33-7 scoring differential, including an 11-0 run. The WolfPack shot 25% for the half with a 2 for 9 effort beyond the arc, compared to a 55% shooting performance for BSC with six makes from long range. Through 20 minutes, Madison College also trailed in total rebounds by a 26-12 count.
The gap continued to widen throughout the second half as the shooting woes remained. Madison College missed all six tries from outside the arc and finished with eight of their 14 made field goals in the final 20 minutes.
Forwards
JP Pleasant and
Wil Dietrich paced the Pack with seven points each, with the latter's coming all in the second half. Three others scored six, including Caron McCormick with the only to 3-pointers of the night for Madison College.
Cullen Rauls was tops with five rebounds and four steals.
The home team finished the game shooting 30% (14-47) overall, 13% (2-15) from three-point range, and 43% (10-23) at the free throw line.The Bobcats were 45% (30-66) from the field, 35% (11-31) from distance, and 61% (11-18) at the stripe, while also owning scoring advantages of 21-10 in points off turnovers, 14-2 in second chance points, and 36-18 in points in the paint.

Madison College (12-3) is back on the road for back-to-back games starting Saturday, January 18 at Morton College (8-8). The WolfPack has never beaten the Panthers in men's basketball, dropping all three prior meetings. Game time in Cicero, Illinois, is at 1:30 p.m.
