Athletics unveils Redsten Gym concessions updates in celebration of Big Dog's milestone year

The Madison College Athletics Department honored Hall of Famer Gary "Big Dog" Breneman with a ceremony that renamed the Redsten Gym concession stand and unveiled a new commemorative plaque celebrating Big Dog's 50 years of service to Madison College. The department also announced the addition of the Big Dog Meal at all concession stands at WolfPack home events. The meal consists of a hot dog, popcorn, and Mt. Dew - or any fountain drink - for $5. The ceremony, held prior to the WolfPack women's volleyball match against Kankakee Community College on October 8, featured a short presentation by Director of Athletics Jason Verhelst, and concluded with Big Dog receiving the first-ever Big Dog Meal.

Madison College Athletics will be holding two more celebrations in recognition of Big Dog's 50 years. The next will be in conjuction with a men's and women's basketball doubleheader on February 1, and the final one to come on April 19 as both baseball and softball play home doubleheaders.

Additionally, supporters of Big Dog can send video and written messages of congratulations via the Celebrate Big Dog's 50th Year at Madison College form, and are also encouraged to give to the $50 for 50 Years Scholarship Campaign.
