MADISON, WISC. - The Madison College Athletics Department announces they will be the host school and site for three 2023 NJCAA Region 4 Championships to cap the upcoming fall seasons. Madison College was awarded the host site for the Division II men's and women's soccer championship games, as well as the Division II Region 4 Midwest District A & B women's volleyball tournaments.
"We were thrilled to be selected to host three NJCAA Region 4 Championships at Madison College," commented Director of Athletics Jason Verhelst. "It speaks to our first class facilities and excellent staff that put on quality events."
The NJCAA Region 4 Division II Men's & Women's Soccer Tournaments begin with quarterfinals and semifinals hosted by the higher seeded teams, and will both culminate with championship matches on Saturday, November 4 at
Irwin A. & Robert D. Goodman Pitch-East. That same weekend,
H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium will welcome eight teams for four semifinal games on Saturday, November 4 before crowning two champions a day later. The winners of each soccer and volleyball tournament will earn automatic berths into their respective National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II National Tournament, with soccer heading to Tucson, Arizona, and women's volleyball to Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Tournament information will be available leading up to both postseason tournaments at
MadisonCollegeAthletics.com and on the Championships page of the
Region 4 website.
Madison College did host the Region 4 Division III Men's and Women's Soccer Tournament Championships this past October, and last hosted the Region 4 Division III Women's Volleyball Tournament in 2016.
The announcement comes as the Madison College soccer and volleyball teams prepare to compete at the NJCAA Division II level for the first time in school history. WolfPack women's soccer has claimed four of the last six Region 4 titles in Division III, including back-to-back in 2021 and 2022. The volleyball squad also owns four Region 4 banners in Division III, with the last coming in 2015. And men's soccer is still in pursuit of their first Region 4 championship.
