N4C Update

N4C dissolves, Madison College to continue competing in Region 4

WolfPack shift to Division II comes with new alliance, point system within the region

On Monday, June 26, the North Central Community College Conference (N4C) announced it is dissolving after nearly 60 years of operation, a run that included 14 seasons with Madison College as a full-time member. The WolfPack, who joined the league ahead of the 2009-2010 academic year, recently claimed it's fourth N4C All-Sports Award as a result of winning three N4C championships during the final 2022-23 season. In all, Madison College won 22 N4C championships during its time in the league, led by baseball (8) and women's soccer (6), as well as women's volleyball (4), men's soccer (2), women's basketball (1), and golf (1). The league also named 21 WolfPack athletes as the N4C Most Valuable Player of their respective sport and season, in addition to the hundreds of all-conference and academic all-conference accolades awarded.

Madison College will remain a member of NJCAA Region 4, and will dictate most of it's athletics scheduling based on requirements set forth by the region. Additionally, Madison College is one of nine institutions who have joined an independent alliance to help with guaranteed scheduling in the future. The alliance includes Bryant & Stratton College, College of DuPage, Joliet Junior College, Kankakee Community College, Milwaukee Area Technical College, Rock Valley College, South Suburban College, and Triton College. Region 4 will continue to provide postseason awards, which will now include a academic all-region honor based on the same criteria previously used by the N4C, and will also implement a new points-based system to determine postseason eligibility and seedings. For more information, check out the Region 4 site.

The timing of the move also aligns with Madison College's move to NJCAA Division II competition for all of its varsity teams. Please visit WolfPackScholarships.com and considering donating to help provide opportunities to current and future student-athletes.
