PALATINE, ILL. - Four players scored in double-figures and two registered double-doubles as the Madison College men's basketball team picked up a Region 4 win on the road with a 66-51 decision at Harper College on Thursday, ending a brief two-game losing skid. Freshmen
Antoine Coleman and
Romelle Bell combined for 23 points and 23 rebounds, while fellow first year
Tyler Mitchell led the team in scoring. The WolfPack have won 11-straight games over the Hawks, and a now 22-10 all-time with a second meeting scheduled for February 3 in Madison.
Mitchell opened his fifth career game with ten points or more by knocking down a three-pointer on an extended opening first possession for Madison College, who built an early 7-1 lead. Harper College (3-7) fought back to tie the game at 11-11, but a
Peter Gustafson bucket started a 12-2 run that generated a ten-point lead. The advantage eventually swelled to 14 when Bell cashed in a jump shot for a 33-19 differential late in the half.
On top 33-23 at halftime, the teams traded buckets until an and-one situation narrowed the gap to six points. The WolfPack responded with 13 straight points to take a commanding 51-32 lead as the clock moved inside of ten minutes to play. A Mitchell three-pointer later in the half gave the visitors their largest lead of the game at 21, and the Pack coasted to their largest margin of victory so far this season.
Mitchell, a 6'1" guard from Dallas, Texas, made 4 of 15 shots, including the WolfPack's only two 3-pointers, and hit four free throws to finish with 14 points and a season-high-tying seven assists.Â
Coleman, a native of Kewaskum, Wisconsin, establish career-bests with 12 points, 11 rebounds, four steals, and three blocked shots for his first career double-double. Bell's double-double, also a first for the Chicago, Illinois, product, consisted of 11 points and a career-high 12 boards.

Justin Pleasant went for ten points and seven rebounds as all eight players that saw action scored for Madison College.
The WolfPack finished the game shooting a season-low 38% after making just 26 of 67 attempts and were 2 for 10 (20%) from beyond the arc. They converted 12 of 20 (60%) free throws. Madison College dominated the interior with a 44-28 lead in points in the paint, a 51-25 advantage in total rebounds, and a 17-7 differential in second chance scoring. Defensively, they held the Hawks to 33% (18-54) from the floor and 12% (3-24) from long range, marks that are the lowest by an opponent this season.
