WolfPack's Voung named NJCAA Div. III Player of the Week after fast start

Freshman forward tallied four goals to help #8 Madison College to 3-0 record, host Bryant & Stratton College tonight

The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has named Madison College's Gabe Voung as the Men's Soccer Division III Player of the Week for Week 1 (August 19-27). The honor is the first for Voung and the first this season for the WolfPack. Voung tallied four goals en route to helping #8 Madison College to a perfect 3-0 start during the first week of the season. The Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, native tallied two goals in a 6-0 win at Kankakee Community College, and followed it up with another two scoring strikes to propel the Pack to a 4-3 decision at Kishwaukee College. In addition, Voung posted his first career assist in the season-opening 1-0 win over Rock Valley College. He has needed just eight total shots and six shots on goal to reach the four goals.

Voung and the WolfPack are ranked #8 in the latest NJCAA Division III Poll, and host in-state rival Bryant & Stratton College at Irwin A. & Robert D. Goodman Pitch-East tonight at 5:00 p.m. The match will be followed by the women's contest at 7:00 p.m.
