ELGIN, ILL - The Madison College men's basketball team was able to shake off the rust from a 19-day layoff to rally in the second half and defeat Region 4 foe Elgin Community College by a 75-70 final on Thursday. Sophomore
Keith Hoffman posted a double-double to lead the effort as the WolfPack made it back-to-back wins for the first time since November 15 and 17. The victory narrowed the gap in the all-time series to a 7-4 lead for the Spartans.
After trailing by nine at halftime, Madison College outscored Elgin Community College (8-8) 42-28 over the final 20 minutes to earn their third come-from-behind win of the season.
Hoffman, a 6'8" forward/center, racked up 26 points and 13 rebounds to match season-high totals in both categories. The native of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, finished 8 of 13 from the floor and knocked down a season-best 10 of 15 free throws. Hoffman now boasts five double-doubles this season.
