ROCHESTER, MINN. - A five-game win streak for the Madison College women's basketball team came to an end Tuesday with a road trip to Rochester Community & Technical College and a 96-70 setback. The Yellowjackets, ranked #2 in the latest
NJCAA Division III Poll, scored more than 20 points in each of the first three quarters and created the second-most turnovers in a game this season for the WolfPack, who are receiving votes in that same poll. The Pack still leads the all-time series with RCTC by a 22-11 margin.

rattled off eight straight points. Madison College answered with a 7-0 run the saw first year guard
Kaylee Anzalone bury a three-pointer ot give the visitors a 9-8 lead. That would be the last time the WolfPack were ahead on the scoreboard. They trailed 21-16 after the first quarter, and RCTC opened the second quarter with a 10-0 surge to build a 15-point advantage. Madison College did trim the deficit to single digits at 31-22, but were outscored 15-7 the rest of the half.
The second half saw the Yellowjackets pour it on with a 32-point third quarter that included five 3-pointers. The last five minutes of the quarter featured just two free throws and a
Taylor Ripp bucket as the Pack was outscored 19-6 and trailed by 33. The WolfPack did win the fourth quarter 25-18.
Anzalone, a native of Elkhorn, Wisconsin, followed up her career-high scoring effort on Saturday with 17 points on 6 of 8 shooting from the field and a 5 of 6Â effort from long range. In two games, the first year guard is averaging 19 points and has made 10 of 14 three-pointers.Â
Ripp matched Anzalone with 17 points, hitting six of her 11 field goal attempts and going a perfect 5 for 5 at the free throw line. The Lodi, Wisconsin, product also had seven rebounds in her first game since being named the
Region 4 Division III Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Ripp has scored ten or more points in four straight games and seven of the team's ten outings.
Hansen also reached double-figures with a career-high 13 points, using four baskets and five three throws. Freshman
Kayla Staveness, a 5'0" guard from Rio, Wisconsin, led the WolfPack with a career-best 11 rebounds, to go along with seven points. Sophomore
Mikala Williams add seven points, as well, and dished out a team-leading six assists.
Madison College committed 31 turnovers, which translated into a 48-11 disadvantage in points off turnovers. Rochester CTC also led by ten in points in the paint (46-36) and by six in second chance points (13-7). The WolfPack finished the game shooting 52% (25-48) overall, 46% (6-13) from beyond the arc, and 87% (14-16) at the charity stripe. The Yellowjackets made 11 three-pointers in the game.

Madison College (5-5) will return from the Thanksgiving holiday break to conclude a three-game road swing with a trip to in-state rival Western Technical College (1-1) on Wednesday, November 30. The game will mark the 99th all-time meeting dating back to January 25, 1978. The all-time series favors Madison College 75-23, however, the Cavaliers have won the last two meetings. Tip off is set for 5:30 p.m. in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
