MALTA, ILL. - The Madison College men's basketball team passed the final test on the 2021 calendar with a resounding 87-65 victory at Region 4 opponent Kishwaukee College on Saturday. The win featured the team's highest shooting percentage in a game this season at 49.2%, and saw 12 different player make their way into the scoring column. The WolfPack, who have won three-straight games overall, now boast a six-game win streak against the Kougars and are leading the all-time series by a 17-7 margin.
Madison College established a lead in the first half and carried a 43-35 advantage into the halftime locker room. Not much changed in the second half as the WolfPack added to their lead with a 44-30 differential over the final 20 minutes to secure the 22-point victory over Kishwaukee College (2-7).
Four-players reached double-figures in scoring, led by first year guard
Telin Porter's 14 points. The transfer from Jacksonville College (FL) was nearly perfect on the day with a 4 for 5 effort overall that included a three-pointer on his only outside attempt, and a perfect 5 for 5 at the free throw stripe. Porter, who now owns eight games with ten or more points, also had six rebonds and a team-leading four steals.
Keith Hoffman was next with 13 points on four made baskets with one triple, as well as four free throws. Hoffman's performance was also highlighted by a career-best 15 rebounds for his third consecutive double-double and fourth of the season. Sophomores
Malcolm Reed and
Ma'Teo Holland each added ten points in the win. Reed was 5 for 7 shooting, and Holland drained a pair of three-pointers and four free throws.
The WolfPack finished the game 30 for 61 overall and 7 of 17 (41%), as well as 20 of 34 (58.8%) at the stripe for the team's fourth game with 20 or more made free throws. Madison College pulled in 40 rebounds, compared to just 27 for the Kougars.

Madison College takes a 9-4 record into the semester break, which will keep the WolfPack off the court until 2022. The WolfPack will open the new year in Michigan's Upper Peninsula with a Friday, January 7 contest at Bay College (11-2) and a Saturday, January 8 matchup against Gogebic Community College (7-5). Madison College has never played the Norse before, and trails the Samsons 20-18 in their all-time series. The action starts at 7:00 p.m. on Friady and at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
