MADISON, WISC. - The third-ranked Rochester Community & Technical College women's basketball team looked every bit the part of a team near the top of the NJCAA Division III Poll as it came into
H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium and handed Madison College its worst loss of the season in a 98-39 final on Tuesday night. The WolfPack struggled against the Yellowjackets pressure defense and turned the ball over 33 times en route to just their tenth loss in 32 all-time meetings.
The game opened with Rochester Community & Technical College (2-2) scoring the first ten points, and eventually taking a 31-12 lead. The differential grew in the second quarter as the home team was only able to generate six points and fell behind by a 56-18 margin at the break. The Yellowjackets went on to win the third quarter by 15 points and the fourth quarter by seven as they progressed towards the 60-point decision.
Freshman
Laurissa Pickel ended the team's scoring drought at the start of the game with a three-pointer, and went on to finish with a career-high 14 points on 4 of 14 shooting with a pair of hits from outside the arc. The Reedsburg, Wisconsin, native also made 4 of 6 free throws and secured a team-leading six rebounds.
Sophomore
Olivia Marron converted 5 of her 9 field goal attempts, as well as knocked down all three of her free throws, to also score a career-high in points with 13.
Madison College ended the game shooting 27% on a 12 of 44 effort from the field, including a trio of three-pointers on 19 attempts. The WolfPack did take advantage of their trips to the charity stripe with 11 makes in 15 attempts.

Madison College (0-6) returns from the Thanksgiving holiday to renew one of their oldest rivalries when they host Western Technical College (0-4) on Tuesday, November 30. The WolfPack and Cavaliers 97 times dating back to 1977-78, and the 'Pack boasts a 75-22 edge. Western Tech did win the last meeting in 2019-20 before going on to win the NJCAA Division III National Championship, and remain the defending national champions after the Covid-19 Pandemic canceled the 2021 tournament.
