The era of the Madison College Turkey Trot 5K & 5M Run/Walk & Kids Race at Warner Park is coming to a close this fall. After 33 years, we made the decision to hand off the event, including the domain name madisonturkeytrot.com to the Festival Foods Turkey Trot. Their annual event benefits two great local charities, YMCA and Boys & Girls Club.

We have enjoyed hosting the Madison College Turkey Trot every fall and meeting all our wonderful participants throughout the years. Fred Williams, our former Madison College Cross Country coach, started the event in 1986 as a cross country invitational and it grew from those humble beginnings to draw upwards of 700 runners & walkers to the beautiful Warner Park course in the late 2000's. The event generated thousands of dollars for Thursday's Child and the Madison College Foundation. While we are sad to see the event go, it was time to transition the event to the Festival Foods Turkey Trot. We are excited that they will continue to hold a great Turkey Trot for many years to come.
