KISSIMMEE, FL. - Madison College bats were alive on day two of the Florida spring trip. Against NJCAA Region IV opponent, Moraine Valley Community College, the #12-ranked WolfPack generated 14 hits and nine runs as they run-ruled the Cyclones, 9-1, in six innings. Against Marian University JV, it was the same result, as the 'Pack belted 12 hits, scoring 12 runs, and run-ruling the Sabres in the fifth inning, 12-2.
Game #1: #12 Madison College 9, Moraine Valley Community College 1 (6 innings)
The WolfPack scored multiple runs in three of the first four innings, including a
Paige Hintz three-run home run in the fourth that put the 'Pack up 8-1 after four innings.
Irene Tomasovic scored on a wild pitch in the sixth inning to end the game.
Five WolfPack players had two or more hits in the game and the team was led by first year outfielder
Irene Tomasovic's 3-for-4 game and fellow first year player
Paige Hintz' 2-for-2 day with her three RBI home run.
Maegan Brookins and
Paige Cornelissen were both 2-for-4, while shortstop
Hannah Grahl went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Jordan Martin earned her second win in as many days, improving her record to 4-1. Martin gave up just one hit for the second straight day, while striking out seven, walking two, and not allowing an earned run in her five innings of work.
Brianna Farrington pitched one inning in relief, facing only three batters.
Game #2: #12 Madison College 12, Marian University JV (5 innings)
In the second game of the day, the WolfPack faced the Marian University JV. The Sabres jumped out a 2-0 lead after the first inning and then it was all WolfPack. Madison College scored seven runs on five hits in the second inning and never looked back. The Pack' added two runs in the third and three more in the fifth to run-rule the Sabres.
Second year players
Olivia Bancroft-Hart and
Kylie Endres each had three hits. Bancroft-Hart was 3-for-3 with two RBIs, while Endres was 3-for-4 with four RBIs. Designated hitter
Maddie Fink went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Four other players recorded at least one hit as the 'Pack belted 12 total hits for the game.
After getting in some trouble in the first inning, first year righthander
Cathryn Hiller settled down and pitched well. Hiller pitched five innings, striking out two, walking four, and giving up just five hits and two earned runs. Hiller earned her first collegiate victory and the WolfPack improved to 7-3 and 3-1 on the spring trip.

Madison College (7-3) will play two games Sunday (3/17) before an off day on Monday. The WolfPack will play Anderson University JV from Indiana at 8:15 a.m. CST/9:15 a.m. EST, and turn around and play Iowa Lakes Community College at 10:30 a.m. CST/11:30 a.m. EST. Both games are at Legends Way Ballfields in Clermont, FL.
