RICHLAND CENTER, WISC. - The final game of 2019 saw the Madison College women's basketball team thoroughly dominate UW-Richland by an 84-16 margin that proved to be the program's largest margin of victory in six years. The WolfPack held the Roadrunners scoreless for the first quarter, and allowed fewer than ten points in three of the four quarters. The second consecutive win for the 'Pack also extends their win streak over UW-Richland to 14 straight, giving Madison College a 53-6 all-time series lead. the WolfPack finishes the regular season with an 8-4 record.
Madison College rattled off a 23-0 run over the game's first ten minutes before the Roadrunners finally ended the scoring drought with a basket in the first 20 seconds of the second quarter. Leading 44-4 at the half, the WolfPack and UW-Richland (5-4) played a more competitive third quarter, which the visitors won by a 30-12 margin before closing the fourth quarter with a 10-2 differential and a running clock.
Sophomore guard
Aniah Williams made 8 of 13 shots, including one from outside the arc, and sank all three free throw attempts to reach 20 points for the fifth time this season.
Three others also scored in double-figures, including second year forward
Lilly Dorman registering her first career double-double with 12 points and a career-high 12 rebounds. The Madison, Wisconsin, native went 5 for 11 overall and hit a pair of free throws. Of Dorman's dozen boards, five came on the offensive end.
Freshmen
Olivia Marron and
Kylie Esser came off the bench to score 12 and 11 points, respectively. Marron, a native of La Farge, Wisconsin, was 6 for 8 en route to a career-high point total, and also grabbed six rebounds. Esser, a former Highland High School athlete, posted her first career double-digit scoring effort thanks to making all four of her shot attempts and a 3 for 4 performance at the stripe. Esser also tallied five rebounds, five steals, and three assists.
Sophomore guard
Mrylena Stewart racked up seven assists, to go along with eight points and six steals, as the 'Pack finished with 22 assists on 33 baskets. Madison College shot 58% (33-57) overall, made 5 of 17 (29%) from long range, and was nearly perfect at the charity stripe going 13 for 14 for a season-best 93%.
The win is the largest margin of victory for the WolfPack since a 95-23 drubbing of Wilbur Wright College on January 18, 2014.

Madison College (8-4) is off for 20 days over the holidays before returning to the court on January 2, 2020, for the North Central Community College Conference opener at Joliet Junior College (4-10). The WolfPack is 19-13 all-time against the Wolves after splitting the regular season series last year, while also owning a 15-10 lead since becoming conference foes in 2009-10. Tip off is set for 5:00 p.m.
