Raemisch hat trick headlines high-scoring night for #7 WolfPack

Five players score goals as Madison College stays undefeated, boasts +16 scoring differential

LASALLE, ILL. - The Madison College women's soccer team demonstrated just how quickly it can put goals in the net during a 9-0 shutout win over Illinois Valley Community College on Friday, August 31. Five different players scored goals in the game, with three posting multi-goal performances as the #7 WolfPack now own a 16-0 scoring differential through two games this season. The win also pushes the 'Pack to 3-0 in the head-to-head series with the Eagles, whom they have now outscored 23-1 in those matches.

Almost as quickly as the whistle blew to start the match, Madison College had a tally on the scoreboard. Freshman Mary Raemisch began her productive night with a goal in the game's opening minute as she converted a Britt Schumann pass just 42 seconds into the action. Raemisch, a native of Lodi, Wisconsin, scored her second goal of the match six minutes later, this time off a pass from sophomore Peyton Trapino, making her the all-time assists leader in school history. In the 8', Trapino set up another freshman when Lillian Glackin registered her first career goal to make it 3-0. It quickly grew to a 4-0 advantage as Raemisch finished off her hat-trick in less than 11 minutes of game time, giving her a team-leading five goals on the season.

Still in the first half, Schumann added to her all-time scoring record with a pair of goals in the 38' and 41', which were sandwiched around Esther Noriega's scoring strike in the 40'. Madison College led 7-0 at the half, and Trapino, a former Madison College women's basketball point guard, had assists on five of them. The DeForest, Wisconsin, product then found herself on the scoring end of the equation in the second half with a pair of unassisted goals to cap the day's total. She led the team with nine points on the day, followed by six for Raemisch and five for Schumann.

First year goalkeeper Kelly Kubicek made two saves in recording her second consecutive clean sheet. For the match, shots on goal favored the WolfPack by a 10-2 margin.
