Though it has already seen plenty of action since opening for use in the spring, the
Irwin A. & Robert D. Goodman Pitch-East will be officially unveiled with a symbolic grand opening on August 30. The shiny, new home for
Madison College men's and
women's soccer will host a doubleheader of action that night with a special ceremony to occur between matches. Highlighting the symbolic ceremony will be a gift presentation to E.G. Schramka, Executive Director of the Goodman Foundation, which donated $6.7-million to renovate the college's existing softball and soccer fields to create the
Irwin A. & Robert D. Goodman Sports Complex.
The WolfPack men open North Central Community College Conference (N4C) play at 4:00 p.m. against Joliet Junior College, with the ceremony slated to begin following the match's conclusion at around 5:45 p.m. The nightcap will feature another N4C opener as the WolfPack women welcome rival, Rock Valley College, in their first-ever match at the new venue - the men defeated Malcolm X College 2-1 in their home opener earlier this week. The ceremony will include both soccer squads, as well as representatives of Madison College.
Fans attending either of the games will receive a voucher for free admission to any 2017 WolfPack soccer match. All fans will also have an opportunity to attempt a penalty kick on the new 100% synthetic playing surface during halftime of each game.
General Admission ticket prices are as follows:
Adults (18 & Up): $4 |
Students (11-17): $2 |
Children (10 & Under): Free | Free Admission for Madison College students with a valid Madison College OneCard.
