For the second consecutive year a record number of Madison College student-athletes have been honored by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) as Academic Student-Athlete Award Winners for the 2016-17 academic year. All eight of the WolfPack athletic programs are represented on the list, led by baseball and softball each with seven recipients. Men's soccer was the next highest with three award winners, followed by volleyball with two, and golf, women's soccer, and men's and women's basketball each with one.

Three student-athletes posted perfect 4.00 GPA's over two full-time semesters to receive First Team/Pinnacle Award honors. Men's basketball sophomore Zach Adkins becomes the school's first-ever, two-time First Team/Pinnacle Award winner after being the lone student-athlete to accomplish the feat in 2015-16. The softball team claims the other two top grade point averages with Breanna Bollig and Samantha Yaeger both earned academic awards for the first time in their careers.
