CLERMONT, FL - Madison College and Marshalltown Community College met for the second day in a row on Wednesday. The 'Pack behind seven runs over the last two innings blew out Marshalltown and earned their second consecutive win over the Tigers.
After trading leads over the first four innings, the WolfPack put the game away with four runs on three hits in the sixth inning and three runs on four hits in the seventh inning. Madison College outhit Marshalltown 12 to 9 as four players had multiple hits.
Ashley Burg and
Brooke Heck both went 3-for-5 with with three and two RBI respectively while Burg also stole two bases.
Brenna Seeber and
Bailey Kratt each had two hits and a double a piece. Seeber was 2-for-3 with two RBI and two walks while Kratt was 2-for-2 with one walk.
Riley Landenberger pitched a complete game scattering nine hits, striking out two batters and giving up three earned runs. Landenberger had 63 strikes in her 98 pitches as she earned her fourth win of the season pushing her season record to an impressive 4-0. Landenberger also has a 1.35 ERA in her 20.2 innings played.
The win was Madison College's seventh of the spring trip. The WolfPack are currently 11-4 overall and play two games on Thursday, March 16 against Cuyahoga Community College (OH) and Rowan College of Burlington County (NJ). Game times are 9:00 AM CST and 1:00 PM CST both played at the Minneola Athletic Complex in Minneola, FL.
