CLERMONT, FL - Madison College trailed 9-4 against Marshalltown Community College (IA) heading to the seventh inning before the Pack' mounted an unbelievable comeback. Madison College posted eight hits, more hits than they had in the prior six innings, before freshman,
Bre Feiler, stepped to the plate to drive in
Ashley Kniesel for the game winning run.
Prior to the seventh inning, the WolfPack had only seven hits to Marshalltown's 14 but in one inning that changed. Former Monona Grove H.S. softball standout,
Bre Feiler, not only drove in the game winning run, she also was 4-for-4 with an RBI and a double. Two WolfPack players had three hits each including
Brenna Seeber and
Ashley Burg. Burg was 3-for-3 with an RBI while second year outfield,
Brenna Seeber, was 3-for-5 with a team leading three RBI. Emme Hilbert was the other Madison College player with multiple hits as she went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Madison College used three pitchers in the game.
Riley Landenberger, who entered in fifth inning received the win. Landenberger pitched two and two-thirds innings surrendering just two hits, striking out four and not allowing a run to score. Teammates
Mackenzie Terrill and
Hannah Wienen also pitched. Terrill scattered eight hits and gave up one earned run while striking out two and walking four. Wienen pitched just a third of an inning surrendering four hits and three earned runs.
The dramatic win pushed Madison College's spring trip record to 6-2 and they play Marshalltown Community College again on Wednesday, March 15 at 5:00 p.m. in Clermont, FL.
