Madison College remained undefeated on their spring trip with a dramatic come from behind win in the seventh inning over Delta College and an 11-0 shutout victory over Century College. With the victories the WolfPack improve to 8-2 overall and 4-0 on their Florida spring trip.
Game #1: Madison College 11, Delta (MI) College 10
After a back and forth game that saw nine lead changes or ties and a total of 24 hits, second year standout,
Lindsey Bollig, stepped to the plate with the WolfPack trailing 10-9 in the bottom of the seventh with two outs. Bollig proceeded to a hit a walk off double scoring teammates
Brooke Heck and
Ashley Burg to give the Pack' the win.
Lindsey Bollig was one of two players with two RBIs including first year catcher, Katelin Gilbertson. In addition to seven players with RBIs, five players had two or more hits including
Brooke Heck, Ashley Kniessel,
Ashley Burge,
Ali Braddock and
Hannah Jensen. Jensen belted three hits in three at-bats while pitching the first six innings. Jensen allowed eight hits and four earned runs while striking out six before turning it over to
Mackenzie Terrill who pitched the seventh inning to earn the win. Terrill allowed just one hit and no earned runs while striking out one and walking one. The WolfPack won 11-10 over Delta College in dramatic fashion.
Game #2:Â Madison College 11, Century (MN) College 0
In the second game of the day, Madison College scored 11 runs on 10 hits as pitchers,
Riley Landenberger and
Hannah Wienen, combined for a five inning shutout. Landenberger started and pitched three innings to receive the win. She allowed just one hit and struck out six in three innings of work while fellow first year Illinois teammate,
Hannah Wienen, also only allowed one hit while striking out two and walking two in two innings of work.
Not only did Landenberger make an impact on the mound, she also was 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs and a double.
Ali Braddock also posted two RBIs, going 1-for-2. Six WolfPack players had RBIs and seven recorded hits.
Lindsey Bollig continued to bat well as she was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Madison College won by run-rule in the fifth inning after scoring five runs in the second inning and four runs in the third inning. The 11-0 win was the WolfPack's fourth win on the spring trip and eighth in a row.
Madison College has a day off before playing Cuyahoga Community College from Ohio at 9:30 EST and Niagara County Community College from New York at 12:00 EST at the Minneola Athletic Complex in Minneola, FL.
