Madison College Softball won two games today by one run, extending their streak of one-run wins to three games on their 2016 spring trip. The WolfPack beat National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II, St. Clair County Community College, 3-2, and then in the afternoon game, beat, NJCAA Division I, Illinois Valley Community College, 5-4.

Brooke Heck came up big for the 'Pack with a two-out single to centerfield that scored
Samantha Yaeger and
Lindsey Bollig to end the game.
The winning hit was
Brooke Heck's second of the game as she was the only WolfPack player with multiple hits. Heck also had a game-high three RBI. Five other Madison College players recorded hits in support of WolfPack righthander,
Elizabeth Wahl. Wahl earned her first win of the season by pitching seven innings, striking out three, walking three, surrendering three hits and two earned runs.
vs. Illinois Valley Community College - 5-4 WINIn their second game of the day, the WolfPack jumped out to an early 4-0 lead after four innings with two runs in both the second and fourth innings. Illinois Valley responded with a run of its own in the sixth before the WolfPack added another run in the top of the seventh. With a 5-1 advantage headed to the bottom of the seventh, Madison College thwarted a comeback bid by the Eagles who scored three runs but came up short.
Brenna Seeber led all batter with three hits in four at-bats.
Bailey Kratt and
Lindsey Bollig each had multiple hits, going 2-for-4, while Kratt posted a game-high three RBI and a stolen base.
Brooke Heck and
Meredith Holt also had RBI for the WolfPack.
Former Watertown H.S. standout,
Hannah Jensen, earned her second win of the season by pitching a complete game. Jensen allowed nine hits, two earned runs and struck out four batters. The WolfPack won their third straight game by one run to improve to 8-6 overall.
Next up for the WolfPack is a pair of games tomorrow in Clermont, FL. Madison College faces NJCAA Divsion III Monroe Community College (NY) at 1:00 p.m. and NJCAA Division I Muscatine Community College (IA) at 3:00 p.m. at Hancock Park.
