In their third game of the 2016 spring trip the WolfPack avenged a February 26, 14-2 thumping, by Marshalltown Community College with an extra innings, 6-5, victory.
The Tigers scored one run in the third, fourth and fifth innings before the WolfPack answered with a huge five run fifth inning. Marshalltown would tie the game two innings later with two runs in the top of the seventh before a
Jordan Bell single scored
Danielle Savignac in the bottom of the eighth inning to seal the victory.
In today's game, the WolfPack limited the errors to just two and got good efforts on the mound from
Elizabeth Wahl and
Jenalee Wilson. Wahl pitched three and one-third innings, striking out two, walking three, allowing two hits and just one earned run. Wilson pitched the remaining four and two-thirds innings scattering five hits, striking out six batters, walking two and allowing just one earned run.
Offensively, Madison College had just four hits to Marshalltown's seven but had timely hitting.
Brenna Seeber,
Cheyenne Holmes,
Bailey Kratt and
Jordan Bell each had a hit apiece. Holmes and Bell each had one RBI.
The 6-6 WolfPack play two games tomorrow with their first against St. Clair County Community College at 9:00 a.m. and Illinois Valley Community College at 1:00 p.m. Both games are at the Sleepy Hollow Recreational Complex in Leesburg, FL.
