MADISON, WISC. - Five players scored in double figures as the Madison College women's basketball team rang up their second highest single game point total of the season in a 94-50 dismantling of in-state opponent Western Technical College on Wednesday at Redsten Gymnasium. The #5 WolfPack are now 3-0 this season, and 17-3 since 2014-15, against teams from with Wisconsin's borders.
Leading for all but the first three minutes of the game, Madison College (9-1) began to separate from the Cavaliers midway through the first quarter when freshman
Megan Corcoran buried three deep 3-pointers over the course of five possession to stretch a two-point lead into double digits. A 6-0 run to end the quarter handed the 'Pack a 15-point advantage. Madison College went on to win every subsequent quarter in building to the 44-point victory, it's third straight over Western Technical College (1-6) and all three by an average margin of victory of 32.3 points.

The WolfPack shot 53-percent (35-66) for the game with six 3-pointers and an 18-24 effort at the free throw line as Madison College remains one of the top teams in the nation at getting to the free throw line and converting. Also key in the victory were 40 points off 30 Cavaliers turnovers and a plus-30 in that category.Â
Megan Corcoran led the WolfPack offense in scoring for the second straight game, finishing with a career-high 23 points. It's the fourth consecutive double-digit scoring game and fifth overall for the 5'10" guard. Corcoran was 9-for-17 overall and 4-of-10 behind the arc.
Sophomore
Rachel Slaney, who was named the
NJCAA Division III Player of the Week earlier in the day, missed her third consecutive double-double by one rebound. The Barneveld, Wisconsin, native had 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting and 7-of-9 shooting at the line to go along with a team-best nine rebounds. She also had four assists and five steals.
First year guard
Peyton Trapino came through with 15 points for her sixth game with at least ten points, doing so on 4-of-5 shooting from the field, 2-for-3 from distance, and 5-of-6 at the charity stripe. The former DeForest (WI) HS athlete also had team-highs with six assists and six steals.
Freshmen
Mackenzie Ripp and
Macy Graf added to the scoring effort with 14 and 10 points, respectively, aiding in the WolfPack taking a 69-19 lead in the all-time series between the former Wisconsin Technical College Conference rivals.
Madison College finishes out a run of five home dates over the last six games since November 15 with a matchup Friday against the Loras College (IA) JV. The WolfPack have not played the Duhawks (NCAA DIII) since splitting a home-and-home series in February 2012. Tip off is at 5:30 and video coverage is available at
