In front of a large home crowd, the newly #1 nationally ranked WolfPack women's volleyball team showed why they are one of the top teams in the nation as they routed the #4 nationally ranked and N4C conference leader, Rock Valley College, 3-1. After falling behind early in the first game the WolfPack lost 25-23 to the visiting Golden Eagles. After losing game one, the WolfPack came storming back, winning the next three games 25-21, 25-18 and 25-15.
TeAnn Harms led the way for the WolfPack as she had a team-high 16 kills and four blocks. Teammate
Taylor Genthe also contributed with four blocks to go with seven kills.
Brianne Brueggen supplied 39 assists and
Stevie Winer had 25 digs while second year outside hitter,
Abbey Loken, gave the team a lift with three serving aces.
With the win, the WolfPack take the North Central Community College Conference (N4C) lead. The team also was named the #1 team in the nation in the NJCAA Division III Women's Volleyball national poll released today. Madison College is 16-4 overall and 5-1 in conference play with their next game taking place on Thusday, September 24 versus UW-Whitewater JV in Whitewater, WI.
