The Madison College men's soccer team got off to a good start in their season and home opening game against the McHenry County College Scots on August 22 with a first half goal for the early 1-0 lead, but the team couldn't hold on for the win.
Alfredo Ramirez-Pinho got the WolfPack on the board at the 40:43 mark in the first half.
Donovan Brendler provided the assist on Ramirez-Pinho's season opening goal that gave the 'Pack the 1-0 lead at the break. McHenry wouldn't accept the loss and fought back to tie the game 1-1 with a goal early in the second period. Both offenses we thwarted by the opposing goalkeepers and the game ended in a 1-1 tie after 90 minutes.
Madison College recorded eight shots in the first half and six in the second half in the tie.
John Arendt played the full 90 minutes in goal and recorded three saves in the game.
The WolfPack men's soccer team returns to the pitch, this time on the road, with a game on August 25 against the Waubonsee Community College Chiefs. The game in Sugar Grove, IL starts at 4:00 PM.
