Â
In game one, Madison held a 4-1 lead after four innings, but DuPage wouldn't go away quietly. The Chaparrals scored three unanswered runs in the next two innings and tied the game up 4-4 after six innings. Reliever
Clayton Uselman replaced Westin Weuthrich and threw two innings of scoreless baseball to earn the win and improve to 3-2 on the year.
Â
The foursome of
Sam Hurt,
Luke Yapp,
Matt Cole, and
Mike Aiello all led the team with two hits, and
Brandon Gibis drove in Aiello for the winning run in the eighth inning. Cole and Aiello both added doubles, and Yapp picked up the lone WolfPack stolen base. Wuethrich started for the WolfPack on the mound and tossed six solid innings, allowing only one earned run and four runs in total. Uselman's clutch two-inning outing proved to be the difference. He only allowed two hits and struckout one.
Â
The WolfPack held a 2-0 lead after three innings after scoring two first inning runs. The College of DuPage cut in to the WolfPack lead with a fourth inning run to cut the lead in half, before Madison exploded for five runs in the bottom of the fourth. Armed with a 7-1 lead after four innings, The 'Pack added an insurance run in the sixth, and held on for the seven run win.
Â

Sam Hurt and
Travis Hamilton were next up with two hits apiece. Â They both recorded doubles, and Hurt led the team with three runs scored. Starter
Ryne Blanton earned the win after his 6.1 inning start. He allowed one unearned run on one hits, and struckout three.
Jared Horton tossed the final two thirds of an inning, in perfect fashion, to close the game.
