The Madison College women's soccer team found a rhythm and the back of the net to open postseason play with a 4-1 win over Joliet Junior College in the NJCAA Region IV Tournament Quarterfinals on Tuesday, October 20 in Madison. It marked the third win this season, and fifth consecutive, against the Wolves, whom the WolfPack have outscored 15-2 in head-to-head matches this fall.
Team leader in goals scored during the regular season,
Tynia Goldensoph added to her total with a hat trick, the second of her career. Goldensoph tallied two goals in the first half to give Madison College a 2-0 lead at the break, then added another in the second to up her season total to 13.
Jamie Hess also scored in the second half off a pass from Goldensoph, giving the DeForest-native a career-high seven point match. For Hess, it was season goal number three. Hess,

Jamie Erickson were also credited with assists in the match. The WolfPack owned a 4-0 advantage before goaltender
Lindsay Hamilton allowed her first and only goal of the match at the 69:22 mark. Hamilton was able to record a save on the only other shot put on goal by Joliet. Madison College placed 14 total shots on goal.
With the win, Madison College advances to the NJCAA Region IV Semifinals and will play College of DuPage on Saturday, October 24 in Glen Ellyn, IL. The WolfPack are winless in two matches this season against the Chaparrals, who are the #1 seed after posting a perfect 10-0 N4C record and claiming the league title. College of DuPage also earned a first round by courtesy of their top seed. Kickoff is set for noon. The winner will play for the Region IV title October 27 against the winner of #3 Harper College at #2 Rock Valley College.
