The Madison College women's soccer team now knows what it's like to play in the North Central Community College Conference (N4C), tough. Playing in their inaugural conference game Wednesday, the WolfPack lost 5-3 to Triton College.
It was a tough matchup right from the start for the 'Pack, as the Trojans found the back of the net in the game's ninth minute. Madison College would answer 13 minutes later, with
Stina Seaberg scoring off an assist from
Jamie Hess. However, Triton would get two more goals prior to the halftime break to lead it 3-1 after the first 45 minutes.
Early in the second, the WolfPack cut their deficit to one. This time, it was Hess beating the Trojans keeper, taking an assist from
Elizabeth Conejo in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, two more Triton goals in the next three minutes would seal Madison College's fate.
Trailing 5-2, the WolfPack would manage to get one more goal before the end of the match. In the 75th minute, Conejo scored unassisted, resulting in the previously mentioned 5-3 loss.
Stephanie Myszkowski made four saves on the day for Madison College. The WolfPack finished with eight shots on goal in the match, compared to the Trojans nine.
Madison College (0-2, 0-1) will host South Suburban College Sunday, Sept. 7, at noon. The game will be played in Waunakee, Wisconsin, at Daleo Field.
