Sometimes in the game of soccer all a team needs is a single goal to get the win, just ask the Madison College men's team. In their first North Central Community College Conference (N4C) match of the season Wednesday, the WolfPack found a way to beat Triton College 1-0.
The Trojans, just two years removed from playing in the NJCAA DIII Men's Soccer Championship, surrendered the lone goal to
Tim Kennedy in the 45th minute, just before the halftime break. Kennedy's goal was assisted by Conor Waity. Meanwhile,
Thomas Sheahan was fantastic in net for the 'Pack, stopping all nine shots he faced on the afternoon.
For the game, Madison College was outshot 18-8, including 9-3 on goal.
The WolfPack (1-2, 1-0) will try to carry the momentum from their first win into Sunday's match against Saint Mary's University (Minnesota). Kickoff between the two teams in Winona, Minnesota, is set for 3 p.m.
