The Madison College volleyball team remains unbeaten in North Central Community College Conference (N4C) play, defeating Joliet Junior College 3-1 Thursday night. The victory gave the WolfPack the regular season sweep of the Wolves.
Playing in Joliet, things didn't start off easy for Madison College. The two teams headed to extra points in the opening set, before the 'Pack eventually beat the Wolves 26-24.
Serving as a wakeup call to the team, the WolfPack would handle business in the second, winning 25-10. However, Joliet Junior College, playing at home, refused to go away easily.
In set number three, the Wolves got on the board, forcing a fourth set with Madison College thanks to a 25-18 win. Luckily, the 'Pack would shut the door there, collecting the 25-14 victory in the fourth and final set.
Katlynn Wirag led the way offensively for Madison College, finishing with 11 kills on the evening. Sophomore setter
Hannah Grahn dished out 37 assists, and
Alison Massey served up seven aces.
Defensively,
Sydney Clarson came through with 21 digs, while
Abbey Loken led the team with three blocks.
Madison College (18-2, 7-0) will now enjoy an 11-day break before their next match. Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 6 p.m., the WolfPack will visit Rock Valley College.
