Box Score Friday night's regular-season finale was a perfect playoff preview for the Madison College women's basketball team. The WolfPack, which beat Harper College 83-58, will host the Hawks again when the postseason begins Tuesday.
Madison College controlled the game from the opening tap. After hitting 39 percent of their shots in the game's first 20 minutes, the 'Pack raced out to a 39-22 halftime lead.
Playing with a 17 point lead, Madison turned things up a notch in the second. The WolfPack would hit 45 percent of their shots, scoring 44 points, to run away with the 25 point win.
Meagan Mazur paced the 'Pack, scoring 22 points and adding eight rebounds. Nicole Hoffman, who logged 20 minutes of work off the bench, finished with 12.
One area in which Madison College would like to see improvement Tuesday is their defense down low. The WolfPack allowed Hawks' forward Monica Hinderer to score 31 points and grab 13 rebounds.
Madison College (19-9, 10-4) will tipoff against the Hawks at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. The winner will advance to the semifinals of the NJCAA Region IV Tournament, playing Thursday against an opponent to be determined in Glen Ellyn, Ill. at 5 or 7 p.m.
